CornHoller: Only 9 days left to pledge!
As you may have seen CSCA is a proud supporter of the CornHoller kickstarter project started by Mr. Shane Garrity. Shane has been very successful so far reaching a staggering $3,898 at the time of this writing. He is still a little short of his goal of $6,000 but this is impressive none-the-less. If the CornHoller excites you as much as it excites us please make sure to pledge whatever you can. Shane has included some very nice "prizes" for the different levels of sponsorship.
Update 10/24/13: Shane is now well on his way to his stated goal of $6,000 with $5,003 having been pledged as of 12:06PM EST with still almost 8 full days left! If you like this idea, make sure to support it if you can!

ESPN making Cornhole inroads
ESPN covers the cornhole world championships win this Wider World Of Sports: Cornhole World Championships segment. It's great to see some big time recognition of the sport we all love. If people will watch bowling or billiards, there is no reason cornhole shouldn't be covered. Check after the break for link to article with video.
I'd been to Turfway Park before. It's pretty much across the street from the Cincinnati airport, which is actually in northern Kentucky. After a Kentucky Derby 12 years ago, I was supposed to drive there from Louisville to catch a 7 a.m. flight to be home for my producer friend Gus Ramsey's son's birthday.

CornHoller™ KickStarter - New device for Cornhole game!!
A gentleman by the name of Shane Garrity from Raleigh, NC. started an interesting KickStarter project called the CornHoller™. It's a really innovative device which announces when a bag goes through the hole in one of 7 unique voices or sounds.
I think a device like this has great potential to add another level of fun to the game. I'll let Shane describe in this snippet from his project.
"CornHoller™ is a battery operated device that attaches underneath cornhole boards. It senses bags and emits one of 7 unique crowd cheering sounds when they go into the hole.

Build your own cornhole boards
Found this great link for easy to follow, simple construction instructions for cornhole boards. Materials would probably end up being less than $50.

Bags for Make-A-Wish!
I am constantly amazed at the good deeds I see being facilitated by the great sport of Cornhole! Check the link HERE to see another great example of people using Cornhole to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation!
“We're talking about the 6th annual Pitching for Wishes for Make-a-Wish,” Dominick Thompson, event planner for Andrew Roby, said.
Pitching for wishes started in 2008.
“We've been able to raise over $330,000 over the past six years. This year we have an opportunity to raise over $200,000 alone through this event and grant some wishes for some kids with life-threatening illnesses,” Thompson said.

Cornhole helps send church to Africa!
The game of Cornhole has been making the rounds around the country seemingly to spread joy and give hope to the players of this wonderful sport. Click HERE for a great article about how a church in Missouri is using cornhole to help take trips to Africa!
The first time Kevin Easterday played Cornhole he was thinking about the possibility of going to Africa with his church.
He was at a barbecue Memorial Day weekend, 2012. Some friends were playing Cornhole—a competitive, yard game where players throw beanbags at a board, attempting to get the bag in a hole at the top of the board.
Easterday said had been thinking about taking a trip with Destiny Church in July 2013. It was still more than a year away, but he wasn’t sure how his family would be able to afford the more than $4,000 the trip would cost.

All bow. Pay respect to your Queen, the Queen of the ACO and the Cornhole world: Teresa Forsee. There’s a popular saying: “Nothing that’s worthwhile is easy.” It’s a lesson that Teresa knows all too well. In a quest to be great, she and her husband and Doubles partner, Bruce, have forged the path together: driving far, seeking top notch players constantly, going home, getting better, and coming back again.
Cornhole for Charity
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through a partnership with Advance Services in Augusta, GA. has organized a Cornhole tournament to raise money to help fight cancer. Awesome to see stories like this. See the link below for the full story!

Beanbags sailed through the air Saturday at Roadrunner Cafe in Augusta, Ga., all in the fight against cancer.
The backyard game-turned-competitive sport of cornhole has undergone a rise in popularity in recent years, and Brian Cameron, founder of Cornhole Carolina, decided to use the popularity of the sport to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through a partnership with Advance Services, where he works part time.
“Advance Services has teamed up for the last several years to do a fundraiser within the company for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society,” he said. “Within the company we’re split into teams, and our team decided to do a cornhole tournament, being that I’ve done many in the past, the majority of them being for charity.”

Cornhole Tips from Esquire?!
Check out this great article I found over at an Esquire.com blog
http://www.esquire.com/blogs/culture/how-to-play-cornhole
If you've ever played cornhole, however, you're probably not thinking about any of that while throwing bags. You're most likely pondering some combination of the following: "This is absurdly fun"; "I don't see why I can't day-drink all the time"; and "How the hell can I get better at this?" Luckily for you, we interviewed a couple guys who can help with that last thought, just in time for lawn-game season. Bags, Cornhole, Corn Toss, whatever you call it; this game is a back yard tradition. Graduation parties, weddings, barbeques. Hell, I’m sure people play bags at funerals! It doesn’t matter the occasion. To men at family parties, bags is an excuse to get away from their screaming kids and nagging wives. Not to mention, it lets them do something almost inconceivable: compete against one another WITHOUT having to put their beers down.
