Event will be held on Sunday, 10/27/2013 starting promptly at 12:00PM.  There will be a 1 hour toss-around starting at 11AM if you'd like to stop by and get a feel for the boards and bags you will be using for the tournament.

This event is contingent on us getting a minimum of 8 teams, always room for more than that.  More info to come as we get closer to the event date. Update 10/2: We've reached our minimum confirmed teams.  The event will go on!  Teams will likely be capped at 14.

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.  WE WILL TAKE MORE NAMES FOR ALTERNATES ONLY!

  • Event will be held at my house in West Haven, CT.  Address will be provided before the event
  • Beverages and Snacks will be provided, BYOB!! Some warm soups and dips, soda, water, etc (My wife makes incredibly Buffalo Chicken Dip and Potato Soup)
  • Shoot Around starts at 11AM bags fly at Noon.
  • All players must be 18+ years old, 21+ if you plan on drinking.  Drunkenness will not be tolerated.
  • Doubles style (2 person teams)
  • $100 buy-in

Point System
  • Cancel style point system.  Only one team can score points per inning
  • 1 point will be awarded for each bag that is on the board
  • 3 points will be awarded to any bags that go in the hole
  • 0 points will be awarded to any bag that touches the ground first or falls off the board.  Additionally, any hanging bag that does not survive the "lift test" will not be counted.

Game Play
  • Round Robin for seeding in double elimination brackets, every team will play at least 6 matches, and all will make it to the Championship Bracket Round.
  • All games will be played until one team reaches or exceeds 21 point
  • Both players on a team must be on the same side of the boards
  • Players will alternate throws until all 8 bags have been thrown per side.  The last team to score is the first team to throw the first bag in a new inning.  The first round will be determined by coin toss/or seeding where appropriate.
  • Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated
  • When throwing, the player must remain in the "pitchers" box.  This is a 4x3' area directly next to the board.  No players foot should cross the front of the board in anytime during their throw/toss/pitch.  If they do, the bag will be considered a foul and will be removed and not counted.
  • Players may throw the bag in any manner they choose, as long as all other rules are followed (overhand, underhand, under your legs, whatever)
  • Scoring is done on an honor system.  DO NOT move or touch any bags that have been thrown until both teams can agree on a score.  If you can not agree, there will be a non-biased official on site to make the tough calls

Tournament Equipment
  • Bags and boards will be provided for this event.  They will be as similar as possible to each other, however this is not always possible.  This is why it is important to show up early for the shoot around hour so you and your teammate can get a feel for each set of tool you will be using.
  • Cornhole boards will be 27' apart from front to front
  • Cornhole is 6'' in diameter on a 2x4' board centered 9'' from the top/back of the board.
  • Each station will have 2 boards and 8 cornbags, 4 of one color and 4 of a different color.
  • Cornbags are single sided duck canvas bags filled with approximately 16oz of hard feed corn

  1. I am interested in getting a team in this tournament.
That's a lot of money for a buy in - how is that split up?

  2. Hello James! We plan on paying out a minimum of 3 places, with a few side contests as well (first 4 bagger, first shutout are a few examples). If all 12 teams show up as of now it will likely be 1. 650 2. 300, 3rd 150. However, this can and probably will change. Teams with last minute no-shows or last minute new teams. Payouts will be finalized the morning of the tournament. There will be a small rake to cover some hosting fees. Please let us know if you have any more questions

  3. Hi John,
Thanks for getting back to me. I had the hardest time finding this page again! I would like to get in if possible. Could you let me know where it is if there are any spots available. My email is jay@caddsource.com. I can bring some scoreboards as well.
    Thanks,
    Jay
